Our llama farm in Newent

Spend quality time trekking with our gentle llamas at our farm in Newent. Our business, Briery Hill Llamas was established by three animal enthusiasts, Lisa, Angel and Steve Fox. After working in the farming industry for many years, they decided to sell up and live their dream of llama trekking and owning animals. Our farm is located on the outskirts of the Forest of Dean, and is now home to 32 llamas, three rescue dogs, pigs, chickens and two cows.

No Llama Drama! Contrary to common misconception, they do not spit at humans. Spit spats are normally amongst the herd and generally over food.
Llama

About us and our Stunning location

Our llama farm is a haven of calm and tranquillity. It is ideally located with the Malvern hills in the distance, and approximately 9 acres of beautiful woodland as part of the 32-acre site. There is also a small lake that is home to many wild birds, waterfowl, and fish. We also have a self-contained holiday lets.

We started with 8 llamas, which very quickly being part of our daily life, love and happiness. We wanted to be able to share what we feel every day - and Briery Hill Llamas was born.
We have a real passion for woolly llamas and suri llamas – and our herd is now up to 32 and counting! They have very individual personalities, and our animals are very much part of our family.
Our handling techniques are based around Camelid dynamics and Reiki, which is based around nurturing rather than force. CKC is what Lisa terms this method - Care, Kindness & Calm - in order to gain a mutual respect, through studying the animal’s behaviour.

The location here at Briery Hill House is stunning. The house is grade 2 listed and surrounded by breathtaking views of the countryside, Malvern Hills in the distance and a lake onsite.
All the food made at the farm is made within our kitchen, which is 5-star food hygiene rated.
We specialise in afternoon teas and have vegan /vegetarian and gluten free options available. Every meal, dessert or snack we prepare is done so with taste and quality in mind, and that is something we are very proud of here!
